In short: this website doesn’t use tracking cookies, analytics, ads or contact forms. We only process personal data when you email us or buy a Pro licence, and only to help you.
1. Who we are
This website, wpyelva.com, and the Yelva plugins are run by Yelva (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about privacy at any time at info@wpyelva.com.
2. What we collect on this website
Technical logs. Like every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of your visit. This is used only to keep the website secure and working, and it’s deleted automatically after a short period. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
Emails you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use this only to reply and help you. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you, or taking steps you ask for before buying. We keep emails for as long as needed to help you and for our records, usually no longer than three years, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
What we don’t collect. This website has no contact forms, comments, user accounts, newsletter, analytics, advertising or social media trackers.
3. Cookies
This website doesn’t set cookies for visitors. WordPress sets cookies only for our own team when we log in to manage the site. Our fonts are hosted on our own server, and we don’t load content from Google or social networks. If this ever changes, we’ll update this policy first.
4. Buying Yelva Pro
Orders are processed by Freemius, Inc., our authorised reseller and merchant of record. Freemius handles checkout, payment, sales tax and VAT, invoices, licence keys and subscription renewals. When you buy, Freemius collects the details needed for the order, such as your name, email address, billing country and payment details, under its own privacy policy.
Freemius shares with us the information we need to support you: your name, email address, country, what you bought, and your licence and subscription status. We never see or store your full card details.
5. Data in our plugins
Optional usage data. When you activate a free Yelva plugin, it may ask whether you’d like to share basic information to help us improve it and tell you about important updates. This can include your website address, WordPress, PHP and plugin versions, and your admin email address. It’s sent through Freemius only if you agree. You can say no, and the plugin works the same. You can also opt out later from the plugin settings.
Licence checks. Pro plugins contact Freemius to check that your licence is active and to deliver updates. This sends your website address and licence key.
Your store’s chat conversations. In Yelva Chat, conversations between your store and its visitors are stored in your own WordPress database and sent to the AI services you choose to connect, so they can write the answers. Yelva doesn’t receive these conversations. For that data, you, as the store owner, are responsible, and the AI services you connect act under their own terms. Please mention the chat in your store’s own privacy policy.
6. Who we share data with
We never sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run Yelva, and only as much as they need:
- our website hosting provider, which stores the website and its technical logs;
- our email provider, which stores the emails you send us;
- Freemius, Inc., which processes orders, licences and optional usage data.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
7. International transfers
Some of our providers, including Freemius, are based outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. Where personal data from the EEA or UK is transferred, it’s protected by legal safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR and UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- see the personal data we hold about you;
- correct it if it’s wrong;
- ask us to delete it;
- object to or limit how we use it;
- receive a copy in a common format; and
- complain to your local data protection authority.
To use any of these rights, email info@wpyelva.com. We’ll reply within one month. Residents of California and other US states have similar rights, and we honour them in the same way. We don’t sell or share personal data for advertising.
9. Security
We use secure connections (HTTPS), keep our software up to date, and limit access to personal data to the people who need it to help you.
10. Children
Our website and plugins are made for businesses and aren’t intended for children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update it on this page and change the date at the top. For important changes affecting customers, we’ll also let you know by email.
